How to apply an impregnator

Before you think of applying an impregnator to any concrete or stone surface you need to find out if the product you are about to seal has already been sealed. Do this with a tablespoon full of water poured onto the surface to be sealed. If, after 10 minutes the water has not been absorbed then the surface is already waterproofed /glazed so the impregnator will not be absorbed into the surface fully.The impregnating sealer will sit on the face of the product and the product will see no benefit. You would be better of using a sealer

If the water is absorbed or you know the surface or flooring needs an impregnator applying then please follow these simple impregnating sealer application steps. Always check the instructions on the container of the impregnator before you apply it to the surface to make sure that the steps followed are correct as all impregnators vary slightly.

1. First ensure the surface to be impregnated is clean, dry and dust free.
2. Do you have the correct application tools
3. Begin by applying the impregnator to a small test area to ensure the finish is the one you require.
4. Apply the impregnator to the surface starting in the corner an working out . Cover all the surface but do not over saturate with the sealant
5. Allow to dry once fully covered.
